Pediatric medical director named to Genesys team

Dr. Sara Pendleton has joined Genesys as its pediatric medical director. In this newly created job, she is responsible for overseeing all areas of pediatrics and the clinical quality of pediatric care provided at Genesys. She will work at Genesys in an administrative capacity.
Before joining Genesys, Pendleton worked at Children's Hospital of Michigan. She completed her pediatric residency as well as a pediatric fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor. She also obtained her medical degree and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar.
Pendleton is board certified in pediatrics. She was named one of America's top pediatricians in 2007 from Consumers Research Council of America.
"I decided to join Genesys because I am passionate about its vision," Pendleton says. "My research exploring the role of spirituality in children who cope with life-threatening illnesses demonstrated the importance of caring for the whole person in his or her spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical dimensions. Genesys places a high priority on this holistic approach."
