Flint Institute of Arts gets Target grant

The Flint Institute of Arts has been awarded a grant from Target stores to continue offering Target Free Saturdays at the FIA. Since beginning its partnership with Target five years ago, more than 100,000 visitors have enjoyed special exhibitions Saturdays at the museum free.
"The FIA is delighted that our partnership with Target will continue," said John B. Henry, FIA director. "This grant represents an ongoing commitment by Target to give back to communities where their customers and employees live and work. They have given 5 percent of their income to organizations that support the arts and education, which translates to $3 million every week."
The FIA is in the Flint Cultural Center between UM-Flint and Mott Community College. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays, noon to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
