Hurley appoints Gavulic senior vice president

Hurley Medical Center announced that Melany Gavulic has been chosen as the senior vice president for operations at Hurley. The board's approval of Melany's appointment is the result of a collaborative interview process with input from the board, medical staff and employees.
Gavulic was Hurley's vice president of procedural and ambulatory services. Her duties included executive level responsibility for surgical, pediatric, obstetric, adult ambulatory clinics, trauma, radiology, bariatric and orthopedic services.
Gavulic has a wealth of health care experience, playing leadership roles at Hurley over the last 14 years. As a results-oriented professional with a proven track record of collaborative working relationships with physicians, staff, colleagues and external customers, she has been successful in developing and facilitating teams that have positively impacted quality outcomes, demonstrated performance improvement, enhanced delivery of services and accomplished various departmental goals.
Gavulic is a proven leader with an outstanding management style that helps everyone work together and raise the bar of performance. She is consistently striving to help Hurley bring quality health care to the residents of our community and beyond.
Gavulic holds a bachelor's of science degree from Kettering University, a nursing degree from Mott Community College and a master's of business administration degree from Baker College Center for Graduate Studies.
Hurley Medical Center is a 443-bed premier public teaching hospital in the heart of Genesee County. As the region's only level one trauma center, burn center and the highest level neonatal intensive care unit available in Genesee County, Hurley is a recognized leader in clinical care and education. It has affiliations with Michigan State University, the UM-Ann Arbor, the UM-Flint, Mott Community College and Henry Ford Health System. Hurley, founded in 1908, provides patient care for more than 100,000 people annually.
