FIA to participate in Blue Star Museum Program

The Flint Institute of Arts, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, will join 1,300 museums across the U.S. offering free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The Blue Star Museum program was initiated in 2010 as a way for museums to recognize and thank military families for all they are doing for our country and simultaneously encourage young people to become lifelong museum goers. Last summer 300,000 military families visited partner museums.
The FIA is presenting the exhibitions Something Waits Beneath it — Early Work by Andrew Wyeth, 1939-1969 and Edmund Lewandowski: Precisionism and Beyond.
Museum hours are noon to 5 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays, noon to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
